Join Mount Royal University students, staff, faculty and community members as we acknowledge the 141 signing anniversary of Treaty 7 with a day long event titled Iinistsi 141. Iinistsi is the Blackfoot word for treaty. On September 22, 1877 the First Nations of Southern Alberta including the Blackfoot: Siksika, Kainai, Piikani; Stoney Nakoda: Bearspaw, Chiniki, Wesley; and Tsuut'ina signed Treaty #7 east of Calgary at Blackfoot Crossing.
